Animagic!

These little gems just popped into my in box by the lovely Luke Stephenson. Brilliant humour as usual from Luke. I’m all  for animal led concepts now for everything. As Tanya his agent said “Animal shoots don’t need to be hectic, even the cats were chilled out with Luke!” He should try working with mine!! Meow!

Colour Up

I brightened up a grey London day by looking at the amazing work of Erik Madigan Heck.

I love this guy. His agent came to see us today and showed is this beautiful series called Day and Night. Simple idea using a ball from a toy dispensing machine and some water but gorgeous results. Owen’s work is very clever  and the thinking behind all his images makes them all the more intriguing.

Good to see updates from East Photographic too. Great agency and great talent. Too much to show in this post though so stay tuned!

Cheesy? Yes Pleasey.

It’s always nice when a creative shows you a piece of work you commissioned for reference. This not to frequent event happened when I was presented with these fab ads that I worked on by 3D artist Chris Labrooy.

Chris’ work is exceptionally clever and even prompted the discussion over whether it was model made but his technical wizardry and creative flair is all done at his amazing 3D studio.

Here’s more of his work to get your head round

Who would have thought veggies could look so amazing? I look at a lot of food photography and doing some research today for my lovely creative team I was reminded of this beautiful almost painterly imagery by Bohman and Sjostrand. Their agents came in with their books a few weeks ago and I was very taken with it then.   I only wish my 3 year old thought veggies looked so yummy!

Lovely Ava aka Mlle Mouns came to see me last week with some beautiful illustrations. I liked it so much I may ask her to design a new tattoo for me!

Sometimes architectural photography make me yawn. Not so with Hélène Binet’s graphic chiaroscuro images of designs by pioneering architects like Zaha Hadid and Le Corbusier. Look differently.

Very excited about last weeks announcement of the upcoming exhibition from Dan Tobin Smith and Rachel Thomas at Somerset House later this month.

I am a huge DT-S fan , I think what he creates is breathtakingly creative in so many ways and he is a totally nice chap to boot.

On at Somerset House from Jan 18th…it’s also totally free!!

Rainy day images to inspire on a grey  day by Yodamanu

On yer Bike

You may have seen illustrator Stevie Gee’s cover (above) of the Metro last week in celebration of the Brownlee Brothers Olympic Triathlon success.  His agency Stem  showed us this week, amongst other lovely things, his portfolio which was filled with cycling related images which in the wake of Team GB’s success I thought would only be fair to share. I love the humour in these.
